A job very well done, by a very good team, whose contribution to a challenging project lead to an excellent finished garage conversion, with en suite and valuable in-built wardrobe space.
A number of very challenging aspects needed to be overcome, including, at times, extreme weather conditions, but the team conquered them all. Strong communication was a major feature employed by A Room At The Top and guidance and advice was always available, if and when required.
Project planning and timings were accurate, with completion of the various stages as promised, some earlier than programmed. The whole job was completed early.
Overall, we would have no hesitation, whatsoever, in engaging A Room At The Top again, and discussions are already taking place on another project.

Right from the word go I found A Room At The Top’s friendly approach and helpfulness very appealing, coupled with their competitive prices this led to our decision to engage their services for our garage conversion. Although initially some delays on previous jobs resulted in slippage to the agreed start date, it was worth the wait as they arrived as promised on the revised date, were always punctual each day (refreshing in the building trade in my opinion).
The team led by Neil cannot be faulted, they were courteous, conscious of the working environment i.e. Our House and very approachable. In most cases our indecisiveness around the best way forward was put at ease where Neil and the team would offer us good advice and options regarding all aspects of the conversion. As work progressed, so did our confidence and trust in the team where I would comfortably leave them unattended to progress the build with an open house. The soon to be playroom conversion took shape very quickly and the team even built us a bespoke under stairs storage unit to hold all our shoes, coats and pending toys.
During the build I observed that A Room At The Top have a small core contingent of key people that can turn their hand to most things. This structure is excellent in ensuring a friendly consistent build and allowed my wife and I to interact with a small number of people which helped build up the trust between us. However the flip side to this team structure was that the progress of our build was dependant on these same key resources and when another job running concurrently came into issues, this resulted in the redeployment of these key resources, which added delay to our conversion (a few days only).
Although Neil did a very good job in staggering the resources with the remaining work on our build, I did at times feel this approach was slightly detrimental to the overall finishing of some of the jobs. However to be completely fair Neil and his team ensured that they addressed all my outstanding issues before leaving site and any delays experienced on the build did not impact the agreed price.
Overall my wife and I are extremely pleased with the level of service and quality of the end build. For us curb appeal (Not looking like it’s an obvious garage conversion) is just as important as the inside space and the team helped forge our idea’s, made them a reality and achieved the look we so much desired inside and out.
